Anthony Genovese, born in 1968 in France to a Calabrese family, trained at the Ecole Hôtelière de Nice and worked in restaurants across France, Italy, Japan, London, and Malaysia before earning his first Michelin star at Rossellinis in Ravello in 1999. In 2003, he opened Il Pagliaccio in Rome with pastry chef Marion Lichtle, which received its first Michelin star in 2006 and a second in 2009, and joined Relais & Châteaux in 2015. His cuisine draws from French technique, Italian roots, and Asian influences, presented as a 'circus of flavors.'
