Antonio Mellino, born in Buenos Aires and raised in Nerano on the Amalfi Coast, worked for ten years on cruise ships before founding Ristorante Quattro Passi in Nerano, Italy, in 1984 with his wife Rita Vinaccia. The restaurant earned its first Michelin star in 2000 and a second in 2011, which it retains, transforming a former pizzeria into a temple of Mediterranean cuisine. He graduated from Naples Hotel School in 1974 and has expanded the family business with sons Fabrizio (current chef) and Raffaele (hospitality manager).
