Dominique Crenn is a French-born chef and restaurateur based in San Francisco who became the first female chef in North America to receive three Michelin stars in 2018 for her flagship restaurant, Atelier Crenn, which she opened in 2011 as an homage to her father. She is widely recognized for her avant-garde, nature-inspired French cuisine and her advocacy for sustainability, equality, and women's rights in the restaurant industry. In addition to Atelier Crenn, she owns Bar Crenn and has received numerous accolades including the World's 50 Best Icon Award, James Beard Award for Best Chef: West, and recognition as one of TIME's 100 Most Influential People in the World.
