Dominique Lafon

Dominique Lafon is a winemaker and proprietor of Domaine des Comtes Lafon in Meursault, Burgundy, who took over management of the family estate in 1984 and transformed it into one of the world's most respected producers of white wines. He became the winemaker at age 26 in 1983 and assumed full responsibility for vineyards and winemaking in 1987 as sharecropping agreements expired, establishing an international reputation for wines of richness, precision, and balance. In 1999, he expanded his portfolio by purchasing 19 acres in the Mâconnais region, producing wines under the Les Héritiers des Comtes Lafon label, and in 2008 launched his own négociant house under his personal name.
