Gabrielle Quiñónez Denton is a James Beard Award-winning chef and co-owner of Ox Restaurant in Portland, Oregon, which opened in April 2012 and specializes in wood-fired cooking and Argentine-inspired cuisine. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she developed her culinary passion during childhood summers in Ecuador's Andean highlands, where her grandmother Rosario Albuja taught her traditional Ecuadorian dishes including empanadas, guatita, and yaguarlocro. She graduated with honors from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco in 1999 and was named one of Food & Wine Magazine's Best New Chefs in 2014 alongside her husband Greg Denton. In 2017, she and Greg won the James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef: Northwest.
