Gary Danko

Gary Danko is the chef and proprietor of Restaurant Gary Danko in San Francisco, which he opened in 1999 and which has held a one Michelin star since 2007, a Wine Spectator Grand Award since 2001, and Relais & Châteaux designation since 2002. A 1977 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, he previously served as executive chef at the Dining Room at the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco, where he won the James Beard Foundation's Best Chef: California award in 1995, and earlier at Beringer Vineyards and Chateau Souverain. Restaurant Gary Danko also received James Beard Awards for Best New Restaurant in 2000 and Outstanding Service in 2006.
