i. Biography
Michael Anthony is the Executive Chef of Gramercy Tavern in New York City, where he has led the kitchen since 2006, earning a one Michelin star, three stars from The New York Times in 2007 and 2016, and James Beard Awards including Best Chef: NYC in 2012 and Outstanding Chef in 2015. Born in Cincinnati, he graduated from Indiana University, trained at École Ferrandi in Paris, and worked at notable New York kitchens such as Restaurant Daniel, March, and Blue Hill at Stone Barns before joining Gramercy Tavern. He became chef-partner in 2011 and authored The Gramercy Tavern Cookbook (2013) and V Is for Vegetables (2015), the latter winning a James Beard Book Award in 2016.
