Philippe Bascaules

Philippe Bascaules joined Château Margaux in 1990 at age 27 as Estate Director, working under Paul Pontallier until 2011 when he left to become Managing Director and winemaker at Inglenook Winery in Rutherford, Napa Valley. He returned to Château Margaux in 2017 as Managing Director following Pontallier's death in 2016, while continuing as Director of Winemaking at Inglenook to oversee its vineyard replanting and long-term plans. Bascaules holds a degree in agronomy from Montpellier SupAgro and began his career in Beaujolais before Margaux.
