Simon Rogan is the chef-patron of L'Enclume in Cartmel, Lake District, which he opened in 2002 and which earned its first Michelin star in 2005, second in 2013, and third in 2022, becoming the first three-starred restaurant in northern England. A pioneer of farm-to-fork cuisine, he emphasizes hyperlocal, seasonal ingredients from his own farm and foraging. In 2024, L'Enclume was named joint best restaurant in the world in La Liste Top 1000, the first UK restaurant to achieve this, and Rogan received an MBE for services to the food industry.
