i. Biography
Yat Fung Cheung is the Executive Chef at Chao Shang Chao (Chaoyang) in Beijing, where he has led the restaurant to three Michelin stars in 2024 and 2025, specializing in refined Chaozhou and Cantonese cuisine. Hong Kong-born, he began his career at age 17 in top Cantonese restaurants there under master chef Tsang Chiu-king, later serving as Executive Chef at Ji Pin Xuan (or Ji Pin Court) in Shanghai, earning one Michelin star in 2019 and two thereafter. He won a Gold Medal at the 2015 Chinese Cuisine World Championship and received 3 Knives at the 2024 Best Chef Awards.
